Barry has a MSc in Petroleum Engineering and has worked in the upstream oil and gas industry all his career except for a brief stint teaching at Lakeland School in Freeport Ohio. He has been a lifelong member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, owns the minerals on his family’s 87 acre Guernsey County tree farm, presently semi-retired and acting president of the NARO Ohio Chapter since its formation in October 2019.

When not retired and working on the tree farm, he is a drilling consultant working on Marcellus and Utica wells in the Appalachian Basin. He first joined NARO in late 2016 and was a member of the NARO Appalachian Chapter Executive Board.
